Neuroregenerative & Physical Healing

Our Neuroregenerative & Physical Healing program is designed for those navigating conditions like Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, autoimmune disorders, and post-viral neurological illness. Using iboga's remarkable neuroregenerative properties alongside emotional, mental, and spiritual care, we go far beyond symptom management to create lasting, whole-person healing.

Comprehensive Plan

At Root Healing, we believe that physical conditions are rarely purely physical. Our Neuroregenerative & Physical Healing program was created for those navigating some of life's most challenging diagnoses. Iboga and ibogaine have demonstrated remarkable neuroregenerative properties, offering genuine potential for biological healing at the cellular level. But we don't stop there.

Our team recognizes that chronic and neurological conditions carry an emotional, mental, and spiritual weight that is just as real as the physical symptoms. By weaving together cutting-edge medical technology, modern science, and the ancient wisdom of the Bwiti tradition, we create a comprehensive healing container — one that addresses the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

Conditions this program addresses:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) — including blast-exposure, sports, and accident-related injury
  • Parkinson's Disease — particularly early-to-moderate stage, where neuroregeneration is most actionable
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS) — including relapsing-remitting and progressive presentations
  • Autoimmune & Neuroinflammatory Conditions — including chronic neuroinflammation and autoimmune-driven neurological symptoms
  • Cognitive Decline — including early-stage dementia and age-related neurological deterioration
  • Long COVID & Post-Viral Neurological Illness — addressing persistent neurological disruption following viral infection

Our approach is different — fundamentally

Most places that offer ibogaine see it through a clinical lens. They treat your depression, your addiction, your diagnosis. We don't. We see iboga the way the Bwiti have always seen it: as a revealer of truth. The truth of who you are, beneath everything that happened to you — beneath every story you have been told or told yourself.

The Missoko Bwiti tradition is the living framework through which iboga has been understood for thousands of years. We call it the language of iboga — because without it, the medicine speaks but you cannot fully hear. Our entire program is built within this tradition: from your first conversation with us, through your ceremonies, to the integration support you receive after you leave.

What you will not find here is a pathology label, a symptom checklist, or a treatment plan that treats you as less than whole. What you will find is a team that believes in you completely — and a medicine that will show you why that belief is justified.

Our neuroregenerative protocols have been developed in partnership with our varied team of experts including some of the most knowledgeable figures working at the intersection of iboga pharmacology traditional wisdom, and neurological science today. What we offer is not an adaptation of a standard ibogaine program. It is a purpose-built neuroregenerative framework, grounded in the Bwiti tradition and refined through rigorous scientific understanding of how iboga works at the cellular level.

Why Iboga Is the Most Promising Neuroregenerative Compound Available Today

The science behind iboga's neurological effects is advancing rapidly — and what is emerging is unlike anything else in the field

The GDNF Breakthrough

At the center of iboga's neuroregenerative potential is its ability to stimulate GDNF — glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor. GDNF is essentially a survival signal for dopaminergic neurons — it tells them to grow, to repair, to hold on. Increasing GDNF in the brain has been a central goal of neurological research for decades, but previous methods required complicated stereotactic surgery because GDNF is unable to cross the blood-brain barrier. Ibogaine offers something those approaches cannot: a non-invasive, orally administered pathway to stimulate GDNF deep in the brain — with effects that persist long after the compound itself has been metabolized. As far as we know, ibogaine is the only compound that can stimulate the release of GDNF naturally.

Traumatic Brain Injury

Stanford University's landmark 2024 study, published in Nature Medicine, produced results without precedent in the neurological literature. Researchers found that ibogaine, combined with magnesium, safely and effectively reduced PTSD, anxiety, and depression and improved functioning in veterans with traumatic brain injury. Stanford Medicine Total disability scores dropped by 83%, PTSD symptoms by more than 80%, depression by 87%, and anxiety by 88% — sustained at one-month follow-up. Neuropsychological testing revealed improvements in processing speed and executive function, without any detrimental changes observed.

Multiple Sclerosis

A 2025 case report published in Frontiers in Immunology documented two patients with pre-existing MS diagnoses who received ibogaine treatment. The findings suggest that ibogaine may promote neuroplasticity and modulate the neurocircuitry involved in MS pathology, with upregulation of both BDNF and GDNF promoting neuronal survival and plasticity. Frontiers The report documented significant lesion reduction and measurable neurostructural changes — representing the first published evidence of ibogaine's potential neuroregenerative effects in human MS patients.

Parkinson's Disease

Ibogaine may increase GDNF levels, promoting the brain's ability to regenerate dopaminergic fibers and repair damaged neurons — going beyond what current Parkinson's medications are capable of. A core member of the Root Healing team, Tobias Erny published the first known case study using validated clinical instruments to document ibogaine's effects on a Parkinson's patient (Journal of Psychedelic Studies, 2026). Substantial improvements were observed in motor symptoms, quality of life, fatigue, and depression, with the patient reporting reduced freezing of gait episodes, enhanced mobility, energy, and mood. No adverse events were recorded. The findings support the hypothesis that ibogaine alleviates Parkinson's symptoms through neurotrophic, pharmacochaperone, and dopamine transporter-modulating mechanisms. This is further supported by a 100-patient clinical observation that found 62% average motor improvement, 86% gait improvement, and reduced levodopa requirements at 90 days — consistent with genuine disease-modifying effects.

The Shared Mechanism

What unites iboga's effects across these diverse neurological conditions is a single underlying mechanism: the simultaneous upregulation of BDNF, GDNF, and NGF — the three key neurotrophic proteins that govern neural repair, survival, and regeneration. Ibogaine and the other alkaloids present in iboga bark can easily pass through the blood-brain barrier and reach all parts of the brain — increasing GDNF, BDNF, and NGF levels in areas affected by specific neurological disorders. No other known compound achieves this non-invasively, orally, and with effects that persist and compound over time.
