The retreat runs six days, and the dates listed on our schedule are those six. You are welcome to arrive the evening before to settle in, which makes it seven. In Europe, sometimes there is the option to add a 3rd ceremony (listed on the dates).

Schedule a call with one of the facilitators. They'll review your application beforehand so they're fully informed, and this is a chance to see if we're a good fit for this deeply personal work.

Preparation
We provide additional forms, a welcome packet, and supportive materials, collect a deposit, and gather necessary medical documents (such as an EKG) as we prepare for your retreat with us.

Program or Retreat
Your time to fully relax into our supportive container and let us take care of you, so you can focus on your work with Iboga, supported by the long unbroken lineage of the Bwiti tradition.

Integration
This is where you reconnect with life, empowered and self-aware, using Bwiti tradition tools and practices. Supported by Iboga's spirit, our team, and our integration program.

Community
Community is a key part of this tradition and something our society often lacks. All past guests become members of the Root Healing Community, with access to forums, online events, and in-person gatherings.
What a retreat costs, and where every dollar goes
What follows is an honest account of what you are paying for in coming to a truly professional retreat, rather than a ceremony with a hobbying (self-proclaimed) shaman or a treatment at an insanely priced Ibogaine clinic.

Where your payment goes
There is no weekend certification for this (nor should or could there be). Becoming and remaining a facilitator means initiations and training in Gabon, repeated travel there, and continuous study inside the lineage. That commitment is total, and it is ongoing — most of our facilitators make one to two trips to Gabon each year.
No rotating shifts, no night staff you have not met. We stay awake with you through ceremony and remain available every hour of your stay. Nothing else is happening in our lives that week.
Application review, intake calls, medical review, preparation calls, then integration and community support after you go home. Many of the hours attached to your retreat happen when you are not here.
Cardiac and contraindication screening led by our medical team, staff certified in BLS and ACLS, and advanced EKG monitoring and defibrillation equipment on a cardiac platform configured to the demands of Iboga work.
Funds, volunteered time, and ongoing support returned to the communities who carry this lineage, and Iboga sourced through them at a price that sustains them. Partnership is not a gesture, and it costs something.
We have chosen to work legally and in the open. Given the nature of this medicine, that carries real legal and compliance costs that quieter operations simply avoid.
The container is our team and the tradition we carry, never a building. But where that work happens still matters. We hold out for centers that are genuinely comfortable, close to nature, and reachable without a full day of transfers after a long flight. Places that meet all three are rare, and priced like it.
Mostly organic, local, and properly prepared. What you eat around ceremony is part of the work, not catering, and sourcing at that standard costs more every year. We have not been willing to trade down.
A retreat does not run on facilitators alone. Our administrative and operations team carries applications, scheduling, and logistics, and the people who clean and prepare the space between retreats are part of what makes the next one possible. All of them are paid properly for that work.
The website and the software behind it, travel between our locations, ceremonial and medical supplies, and keeping our team's certifications current. None of it is visible from the outside, and all of it comes due every month.
And a living for the people doing it
This is our sole work and our only income. We have families, and the world is not getting cheaper. For this to continue, the people doing it have to earn a real living — so their attention can be fully on supporting you, and on the more important work you came here to do.
Iboga was never meant to be only for those who can afford it
In Bwiti, the medicine belongs to the community that carries it. We keep several pathways open each year so that cost is not the last door between someone and the work they came for.
Scholarship program
Full and partial scholarships, funded each year through the Missoko Bwiti Alliance, our nonprofit. For people whose need is clear and whose means are not. Reviewed privately by our core team.
The last minute list
When a guest cancels or moves their dates, that space opens at a reduced rate to people already on the list. Add your name and we will reach out when one comes free.
Committed spaces
A set number of spaces are held back every year for those our community brings forward, and for people from groups and backgrounds we feel especially called to prioritize. Held, not advertised.

The Importance of the Tradition
The Missoko Bwiti tradition, which is utilized in all of our programs is a powerful system to help people reconnect to themselves and their life and also remain connected.
The "Language of Iboga"
When we say that Bwiti is the Language of Iboga, we mean that Bwiti provides the framework through which Iboga's teachings can be fully understood and received. Just as you would need to speak French to truly understand a teacher speaking French, you need the context of Bwiti to truly comprehend what the spirit of Iboga is communicating to you. It is through these traditional teachings, practices, and perspectives that Iboga reveals what lies at the root of your suffering and shows you the path toward lasting healing. Without this language, the messages may still come — but with Bwiti, you gain the ability to hear them clearly, integrate them deeply, and carry them forward into your life long after the experience itself.
Authentic Bwiti Guidance
All Iboga sessions are led by facilitators trained and initiated in the Missoko Bwiti lineage, drawing directly from a tradition that has worked with Iboga for thousands of years. Guests experience traditional Iboga ceremonies, including fire talks, ritual teachings, and sacramental use of the whole Iboga plant, rather than isolated ibogaine.
How long does it last?
We can break down the phases of each Iboga ceremony into four parts.
Counseling, Prep, and Fire Talk
The first phase is the preparation of intentions through counseling. Then in the evening, we have the fire talk ceremony, where we will talk about where Iboga comes from and the going deep into the Bwiti tradition. This will give you everything you nee. The Bwiti tradition comes from the Iboga spirit, which is why this is the most effective container to hold the ceremony and retreat in. People will also begin taking medicine at the fire and feeling the initial effects in this phase before lying down.
Traditional Ceremony
The next phase of the experience will be lying down in the candle-lit ceremony room. We will be playing Bwiti music which also comes from Iboga and helps amplify and keep you anchored in the experience. The facilitators will be caring for you and working with you as needed in different ways throughout the night, but primarily, our aim is to keep you safe, hold the container, and support you and empower you in the work you and Iboga will do together.
Processing Day
The experience’s third phase is when you return to your room at sunrise. We call this processing day because you will be processing much of what came up in the ceremony and previously stored emotions and memories. The processing days are probably the most important parts of the experience and bring about profound epiphanies and realizations about your life.
Integration
The fourth phase is integrating the experience into the real world. We will do this on a micro-level during the retreat in our integration day trips, counseling, and work developing a plan together on the last day and closing circle. Then this will continue on into the post-retreat experience as you apply this and work with it in your real life. We will continue to support you and empower you throughout this phase.
Sustainable and Ethical Source
All of our Iboga comes from the most sustainable and ethical source there is, the Bwiti people. The Bwiti have been the shepherds and protectors of Iboga for thousands of years and know exactly how to manage it. Since our medicine is collected directly from the Bwiti village we work with; we know exactly where it comes from and how it was prepared.
