Ryan's approach

Ryan isn't your healer. You are.

Ryan's work is about reconnecting you with yourself and repatterning your life using the tools of Bwiti and Iboga. He shares the knowledge, experience, and support you need to find your own way forward — and he and the Root Healing team walk alongside you through aftercare and integration, so what you find takes root in daily life.

Why Ryan founded Root Healing

Ryan founded Root Healing with a clear intention: to hold Iboga work inside the tradition it comes from, alongside medical screening and monitoring that meets or exceeds any ibogaine clinic in the world. Tradition holds the healing. Medical rigor holds your safety. You'll meet both in your very first conversation with us.

In development

With the Root Healing team, Ryan is developing programs for conditions we believe this work can reach — including autoimmune conditions, Parkinson's, substance use, traumatic brain injury, and PTSD.

Trained and empowered by his elders

Ryan is initiated and lineage-empowered in the Missoko Bwiti tradition. He continues to lead retreats and offers pre-initiation ceremonies for both men and women.

A lifelong student

Bwiti is the study of life itself, and Ryan treats it that way — an understanding that keeps growing and changing through direct experience. He has supported more than a thousand people and facilitated hundreds of ceremonies.

Getting to know Ryan

Ryan on how he works with people

Ryan talks through how he came to this work, what a retreat with Root Healing actually asks of you, and why the tradition and the medicine are not separable.

In his own words

A message from Ryan

In heart-led action, the work I do is simply supporting people on their own path of liberation. It's about breaking free from the chains of programming — those ingrained beliefs and behaviors we've absorbed from and created for family, school, friends, and society. Supporting you on a journey to untangle these threads, helping you shed patterns that were never truly yours, those designed to please others instead of honoring your authentic self.

This isn't about ascending to some lofty, transcendent state. It's the opposite — a path to radical grounding, a return to the raw beauty of our human nature, and our connection with nature, with reality. Forget about chasing external purpose; this journey is about rediscovering the profound meaning in simply being. When you embrace the essence of your existence, when you align with the wisdom of nature instead of clinging to illusions of control, your unique gifts will naturally overflow, enriching your world in ways you never imagined.

It's a reclamation of life itself. We exist in an era where we have become disconnected from reality through hyper-connectivity, perpetually plugged in — but to the wrong sources. The internet has become our synthetic habitat, our phones, computers, and TVs serving as distorted windows into this digital realm. We've built ourselves an airtight, extremely faulty, smart home, a fortress against the uncertainties we can't control, and in doing so, have isolated ourselves from the vibrant world that lies just beyond.

True freedom demands we venture out into the untamed wilderness of our existence — to embrace our own wildness. It beckons us to encounter the world in its raw, unfiltered essence, to accept its breathtaking interconnectedness and the ephemeral nature of all things. It's about recognizing the vast, boundless space within and without us, where rigid structures dissolve, and it's about learning to dance with the rhythm of life itself.

To meet life in the most crazy, radical, revolutionary way:

To
just be.
